Sunnyday Funday

You know that day in spring when it is finally warm? Not just because the sun is touching your skin, but because you can feel it deeper… as if it is warming your soul too and you know it must be God promising warmer days.

Sure, there may be chilly days still around the corner; but soon those will be tucked away along with our gloves and wearable marshmellows. For me, that day was today. Maybe, wherever you are, you have already experienced this… or, perhaps, you are still waiting for it.

The trees in our backyard a few weeks ago, so beautiful!

How come, even on the coldest of winter nights we can picture the nice, hot, summer days waiting for us because we simply know that’s how it works – seasons change… but, during times of tribulation we are so quick to let it blind us that we forget all about what God must be preparing us for. As long we trust in Him and follow His word we can rest in knowing that there is a reason for every “season” in our lives and that brighter, happier, warmer days are surely on their way.

Galations 6: 9 New International Version  (NIV)

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

As I stood in the front yard listening to the laughter of the kids, watching as they jumped on the trampoline and ran around, the birds chased each other from tree to tree and filled the clear, blue sky with their songs and my toes and face were warmed by the sun… I was reminded of the comforting love of our Heavenly Father. How no matter how bad our circumstances may seem (just as sure as we are that the seasons will change) we need to have faith that is so strong that we truly know that God will bring us through whatever we are going through and into brighter, warmer days.

I had a day like that about a week ago, surprisingly! As I stepped outside I was instantly enveloped in spring-like warmth. Spring is even better than I remembered! Even though the weather is colder, that feeling “spring is coming!” has stayed with me. 🙂
