I AM SO EXCITED!
This week I have started a new category called, “Lovin’ Lately:” in this category I will be sharing three different things that have been making my heart smile lately.
My hope in sharing these things with you is to one, share a little more of who I am and maybe introduce you to some new things that you’ll love. But more so, two, to hopefully inspire you to take a moment to look around you and find perhaps “simple,” every day (or big and special) things that you are grateful for!
Before I get started I would like to mention that this idea was inspired by the only vlogger I watch (besides my brother…) Jon Jorgenson. I cannot remember exactly which video it was in… so, I guess you’ll have to watch them all if you want to find it!
Okay, here we go…
Druuuum rollllll pleeeease!
#1 – Memory Verses
This is something that Mama started with me and Mattie, probably a couple of months ago now. To say I love this is an understatement… I am beyond grateful to have this amazing woman in my life who is constantly striving to feed truths into me and challenging me to become a better woman of God.
This little activity causes me to recite God’s Word 10x more in my everyday life. When it’s been a couple of days since I have done one I find myself hungry for more… and after I get a new verse and really meditate on it I find myself more at peace. It seems like a lot at first but, it really isn’t that intimidating once you dive in. There is no timeline and no pressure to memorize each verse word. for. word.
If you are interested in participating here’s what you do:
The Verse: James 5: 16
1. Read the verse to yourself.
2. Read it out loud.
3. Write it down (on an index card).
4. Draw a picture that you think of when you hear it or that helps you remember it (on the top half of the back of the index card).
5. Write a prayer, or promise, of how you will implement the verse into your life (on the bottom half of the back of the index card).
…I hope this challenges you and feeds your soul. Also, I have to point out cute, little Sophie’s hands pictured above… because she wanted to do it too… love them so much!
#2 – Roasted Sunflower Butter
Mama picked up a tub of this roasted, salted, sunflower butter from Whole Foods for me a little bit ago and I am in love with it!
On its own it has a very earthy, roasted flavor but paired with something sweet it balances it out perfectly.
My top two favorite ways to eat it right now are:
- On a rice cake with frozen, fresh, blueberries and dairy-free chocolate chips.
- On a piece of Mama’s homemade gluten-dairy free banana bread with, again, some frozen, fresh, blueberries and maybe some dairy-free chocolate chips.
Talk. About. YUMMY!
#3 – Sakura Pigma Brush Pens
These pens are amazing!! I love writing… I love watching people write… something about it makes me happy. So, pens that write smoothly and effortlessly make me really happy. These, are just that. I do have to say, however, that if you aren’t careful and push to hard you can very easily flatten the tip of the pen and it makes it harder to do the thin, up-strokes.
