Family Game Photo Disco

I was talking with Allison and Katelyn the other night at fellowship about how every day can be so full and you can do so much but, when someone asks what you’ve been up to… you can’t think of one thing to say. Because everything you’ve done is the same old, same old family every day living type stuff.

So, since it’s been awhile since I’ve done a “life recap” post, this week (today being Monday) I am purposing to find something exciting in each day to share with you!

But first, let’s talk about this last weekend. Matt and Ashlee came in on Friday and stayed for a couple of days. On Saturday Mama, Ashlee and I went to get manis and pedis to celebrate Ashlee’s born again day!

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18: 20

Mama and Ashlee also went to a special class and we had a big fancy dinner. They left the next day and are now home which is so much closer! Yay!

(Happy born again day Ashlee!! We love you!)

I finally made the taco hat!

“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” Psalm 32: 11

I love this girl, she always makes me laugh! Whether it’s from wearing this silly hat or hiding my coffee and phone while I was out of the room. I am blessed to call her my sister.

“Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12: 3

The baby tortoises getting their last sips of water before their long winter’s nap. Aren’t they adorable??

Tuesdays are the day we have our fellowship. I got to help Mama cook more; which I was very happy about. I feel very blessed to cook alongside her.

I also got to see some of my favorite babies! Actually, fellowship was full of babies this last week…

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” James 1: 17

Also! Some of our friends are leaving few weeks and they gifted us with the game Catan. They introduced us to it and everyone loves it. It was so very kind of them and it has already been broken-in!

“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered awhile, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.” 1 Peter 5: 10

I’m not sure what day it started but I got a bit of a stuffy nose and wasn’t feeling 100%. On Wednesday I woke up with a terrible headache and little cough so I laid in bed and watched the “Sound of Music.”

I got up around 8pm and took to the dishes and cleaning up around the kitchen. It felt. So. Good. It was nice to get up and do something.

Then I ate pizza and got to talk to our lovely candle guests! Before “show time” and sleep time.

I worked on a canvase for a friend as a surprise gift; I am so excited and I sure hope she likes it!

Also, our wonderful friends came over and Mama did a photo shoot of their sweet family.

“bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13: 7

I love their company; always brightens my day.

The rest of the night looked like working out, eating dinner, cleaning the kitchen and sleep.

Friday was a “duty day” I got of little things done. Did some laundry, sent out a couple of birthday cards, took a stationary walk. (I’m still getting used to the treadmill… have you ever used one? It feels so weird to walk once you get off.)

Mama also did another photoshoot, this time with our candle guests. Watching her take their pictures, their smiles were catchy! (She has a way of bringing out genuine smiles.) What I’ve seen of the photos, are beautiful!

We also broke out the disco ball and started cleaning for the surprise party we’re having tonight (today now being Sunday).

Mattie and I assembled a really fun photo booth! It took a lot of tacks and we had to move it and change it up at least four times… my thumb and index finger may be ready to fall off… But! If they like it that’s all that matters! I’d be happy to do it all over.

“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15: 11

I woke up feeling great = No headache and fully rested!

Did some more laundry, helped Mattie with the canvase she was making as a gift for the party and did a lotta party prep.

Then I ended up working out even though I had planned on just doing a walk… I am so happy I did though! It is always nice to move after not feeling great and to push through it.

Oh! Oh! Oh! I also made some new post covers in an attempt to make my blog here more uniform-fancy. So look out for that!

“NUN Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119: 105

And now you’re caught up to today!

So far I’ve woken up, brushed my teeth, started working on this post, held baby Avi, fed him a bottle and visited with family and friends.

…I really should get to moving the last load of towels from the washer to the dryer…

I think everything is pretty much ready for the party tonight. Mama is simply amazing and I feel so blessed to be able to “study” under her wing as she hosts parties and just does her every day amazingly, wonderful, women, Mama stuff…

Now, I bid you ado… I will probably come back little later to post some pictures from the party!

I’m back! And look what I have…

“Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel — that will stand.” Proverbs 19: 20-21
God has truly shown me favor by filling my life with such lovely family and friends.
The final, final product ended up looking very similar but the sign moved up a bit more.
Yummy cake pops! …I heard they were yummy, I wasn’t able to eat them… dairy…
I thought this shot of the dance floor and people’s feet was fun…

Until next time; I pray your day, every day, is blessed.

I laughed at the picture of Maddie! That is like her! 🙂

So sweet you with the baby! And you with Mama! And you with Ariana! Such a blessing to know you all!

Looks like the party was a fancy-dress up party! Looks like your hard work paid off! Hope the birthday “boy” had fun! I guess at 60 you are no longer a boy!

It is fun to hear about your daily life. I know what you mean about not being able to remember what we have done. But life is moving on, so we did much! Just can’t remember. They ate, got cleaned, laundered…. etc.!
