Hello there, before you get too far I just want to make sure you know Jesus loves you! With that being said… my name is Summer and I am so glad that you were able to join me here today. As I continue to write and watch my little “online journal” grow, I have realized something: my main goal here is to empower young women (or, anyone, I suppose). Buuut, not in the worldly sense. I want to show you that there is strength and love and pure joy in being a true, modest (in every sense of the word), woman of God.
You don’t have to go to college, bank up debt, “sell yourself short,” feel alone, or “put up with” unhealthy relationships because the world keeps pushing and pushing and pushing you. How do I know? Well, I’ve been there… I tried to do this whole “life” thing on my own (spoiler alert: it didn’t work).
But, I am here to tell you, “It is possible.” It is possible to be purely happy. It is possible, and OKAY, to want to be a stay at home mom and wife someday (don’t take my word for it take a look over at Proverbs 31). It is OKAY to make a life changing decision when you know it is what is best for you and is where God is leading you (although it may not make sense to anyone else). It is OKAY to be weak and show your emotions and spend time taking care of yourself. We weren’t designed to be like men. Just because we can, or are able, to do the same things… doesn’t mean we have to, or (in some cases) even should.
I am twenty one years old, my new (to me) car is paid off, I have no debt or student loans, I don’t/refuse to have drama, I don’t stress over exams or classes, I don’t set an alarm, I don’t work a 9-5… I get to fill my days with my Lord, family, friends, writing, baking, serving (which looks different everyday) and so many more beautiful things. I thank God every single day for this season in my life. (That I am able to share with you!)
Even though I don’t fill my days the world would like to try and tell me I should be right now (with college and a job… or three) I still have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my tummy, a smile on my face and love in my heart because my God wasn’t kidding or speaking “metaphorically” when He said that He would take care of me. If I just put my faith in Him… you with me?
Thank you again for joining me today! I’m so glad I got to meet you and I pray you have a beautifully blessed day.
